The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is one of the most beautiful as well as the most famous journey in Nepal, where travellers experience the natural beauty of the Himalayas together with the thrill of following in the footsteps of the greatest mountain expeditions in history.
The Everest Base camp trek is a total walking distance of 69 kilometres from Lukla to EBC and back to Lukla taking 13 days. The trek leads through the varied landscapes of the Khumba region with green pine forests and the pure natural splendor of the world's’ highest mountains including the 8000m peaks of Everest, Makalu, Cho-yu and Lhotse as well as many other great Nepalese mountains such as Kusum Kanguru, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Thamserku. The Khumbu people of the region are Buddhist and we pass many monasteries on route, both old and new.
The Everest Base Camp trek begins a flight of 40 minutes from Kathmandu to Lukla offering an amazing and close-up view of the snow capped mountains of the Himalayas before we start our epic trek towards the first stop at Phakding.
